All of the kids have moved out, and I finally have my sewing room. My husband painted and we got it all ready. This is my first pillowcase dress. I have admired all the ones I have seen online and have many Granddaughters to make for. I thought it turned out OK, I hope to learn to do really nice dresses/clothes for the Grand babies.

Every few years we see a black squirrel at work. I always enjoy seeing them because the are so much different than the grey and red squirrels we have in our area. There is a logging place a few doors down from us, and we are assuming they may hitch a ride on the logging trucks. From what I have been told, they are few and far between in this area. Luke Saves the Deer

My son works for the County, he works up north a bit and he sees all kinds of animals. Today they were doing road maintenance and he saw a deer on the ice out on the lake. He said I am not going to let the coyotes get her. So he walked out on the ice, and saved it. Here is a video of it. Luke said that when he got the deer to safety she actually put her head against him, and she let him pet her.

Remember a while back I said I could not grow garlic. Well last fall I tried it again. I read of what could be wrong with my planting. Night before last I put 30 eggs in the incubator. I met Mary on The Easy Garden and she has Rhode Island Reds, and gave me the eggs to try to hatch. (Thanks Mary!) I got the camera out, and took some pictures of the delightful birds outside in my back yard. I even had a crow come to the feeder which is unusual. They usually don't come so close to the house.
